Ok, some of you must be wondering the stages & process for the interview.
I can share from my past experience but pls take note that the sequence or the stages might be changed.
Entry
- Download the application form, print & bring it along during the day. You can get it here.
Avoid unnecessary question
- What if I left my form at home? They will supply form during registration but you are just wasting your time.
- Do I really have to bring my cert, letter of application? Well, ask yourself again, are you serious about getting this job and going for the interview?
- What if I forgot to bring? You MUST REMEMBER. Do your homework and get yourself prepared. Get enough sleep.
- I don't have my photo with me. Ask yourself again, are you serious about this job?
- I am just 17 years old, I am 140cm only, can I apply? Try and read the requirement again until you understand. Do not waste your time if you do not meet the requirement.
READING INSTRUCTION IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT.

- Bring along your passport photograph pic. (Not necessary to bring your full length 4R/5R pic-at the end of the day, we want to see the real you and not the photoshop image of you). I came across a photo of one candidate, she looks as perfect ever. I was waiting for the candidate to enter the room as I think she really got the face. To my surprise, when she came in- it was too good to be true! so there's is no point having the best photoshop photo of you if it doesn't represent the real you. Oh ya, once I had Emirates interview and they requested the candidate to bring a full length 4R pic, before they actually que to get in the hall, recruitment team actually check their pic and compare with the real them. If the pics looks too perfect, candidate needs to take a new photo. - oh ya, Emirates hired agency for photo booth and charged them RM25 per photo and no CD will be given.
- Its a must to have your SPM cert as the entry level for this job is SPM. Do make sure you meet the min requirement else don't waste your time trying. For some cases, candidate giving excuse- Cert was missing-flood,burnt when the house was caught in fire,got stolen)- You can always ask the school to get/reprint a copy of your SPM cert. If you left it at home-please find your way back and take it with you for the interview. If you have a higher qualification- Diploma, Degree, Master & etc- you are most welcome to apply but you would need your SPM cert too. The basic pay will be the same regardless to your higher qualification. Other airlines such as Singapore Airlines & Emirates are offering a different basic pay based on the qualification.
- Please bring along your letter of application, resume, original and certified true copies of
academic certificates, IC and a recent passport-sized photograph (non-returnable) and completed Malaysia Airlines Job Application Form. Google and look for sample of letter of application and resume. There's always a first time for you. I will share with you my sample of Resume and tips of writing resume. SOON ya :) - Candidates are advised to dress appropriately (office attire) for the interview (t-shirt, slippers and jeans are not allowed). Female candidates are encouraged to wear kebaya. Ok, this is very simple. You can wear formal and be presentable. Ladies can wear the kebaya- it will be more likely for the interviewer/panel to imagine you in the real MAS kebaya and see if you got the cut to be a crew. You can always wear your formal attire-either match it with skirts/long pants. Hair for the ladies-you can bun it, you can blow it nicely and let it go.

Here are sample of question. It's not a guarantee question but you can start to think of it and be prepared. Please do not memorize it, know it by your heart and be yourself :)
TIPS ON "TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF"

When I attended Singapore & Emirates interview, the preliminary question as follow:
- Register, check for all documents-resume, application letter, SPM cert & etc.
- Get your Q- Number. Registration counter will close at 12 noon so pls be early. Mind you, there are more than 500-1000 candidates, you may want to come early and get early number and be prepared to stay through out the interview process for the whole day.
- Height and weight check. Minimum height (weight in proportion): 165cm (male) / 157cm (female). Weight to be ideal with your height. Google for BMI calculator to know more. Yes, will measure you with a bare feet/ without your shoes.
- Holding Area. Most of the time, you will need to be sitted in the Hall/Auditorium and there will be a slide show of MAS cabin crew, the benefit & etc. You will need to wait for your turn before you get into the interview rooms. Normally, for KL round held in MAS Academy, there will be about 10 interview room. (They will select randomly for you). They will call 6 candidates to be in 1 room.
- Preliminary. This is a very important stage. First impression counts as you need to get their attention within this 5min session. There will be 6 candidates seated together one row & face the panel interviewer. There will be 2 panel. You can put your things at the table provided at the back of the room and be seated. (They may arrange you to seat by name or you can chose to seat- depends on the panel and just wait for their instruction. From this moment, everything you do will count! The walk you walk, way you sit. Do smile! and keep a good body language. During this stage, they will ask you to introduce yourself. and maybe basic question (question may differ and depends on panel). Area to look at the candidate : English and Communications skills.

- Tell us about yourself -Do not drag. (you can start with greeting the panel and also the rest of the candidates & smile!)
- Why are you here today? -Because you want the job & you are interested to become a crew.
- Why do you want to be a cabin crew? 99% of candidate will say "I want to be a cabin crew because it's my dream job since i was a kid. I love to travel and meet people". Imagine if you are panel interviewer, and towards end of the day you are hearing the same script for more than 1000+ times in numbers of interview session for years and years? Aren't you get bored? If I may suggest, try to rephrase / make it different so that the panel will be more likely to pay attention at you because you are just unique.You can try and google fun/different way to introduce yourself .
TIPS ON "TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF"
- Sample 1 " Say " I AM instead of MY NAME IS..
- Sample 2, Tell me about yourself is not telling everything about you but tell us the best about you

- Why do you think we should select you as cabin crew?
- In 3 words, what type of person you are?
- What is your preparation before you come for the interview? To show you are really prepare and serious about getting the job.
- If we are a group of tourist, suggest a place that we must see and go in Malaysia/international?
- One of the benefit/privilege for Airline staff is they are entitle for Annual FOC ticket, where will you go & why?
- (Knowing that you are from Penang, or etc...), Tell us the famous tourist spot/places that we must go in Penang/etc. Show that you know interesting places in your hometown/place of birth.
When I attended Singapore & Emirates interview, the preliminary question as follow:
- If you were a fruit, what fruit best represent you & why?
- Lets say you are given a chance to do plastic surgery, which part of your body that you will choose for surgery and why? Be careful, this can be tricky. E.g If you say you want to fix your teeth- GOTCHA! They know that your teeth is not good, E.g You say you want to have big eyes because your eyes is small/sepet- You are telling them that something is not right with your eyes. E.g You say you want to have a perfect skins and no scars- Opss! You are about to show them you have a lot of scars and for this job, they prefer candidate with good skin and of course, we do have scars- as long as its not visible when wearing the uniform.
- What is your favorite show/movie?
