Malaysia KLIA2

I've always looking forward for KLIA2.
Having 7 months experience working in LCCT and looking at how congested it is, I feel that budget travellers would also need a convenient & better environment. KLIA2 will be able to accommodate 45 million passengers per year

In my personal opinion, LCCT needs a bigger space.
With explosive growth in low cost travel, we definitely need a better facilities.

Let's skip the introduction and background of KLIA2,
I want to share with you my experience today during the KLIA2 Pre-Opening.
We received the invitation from ERL and went there with my colleagues.

Starting point from KL Sentral and commute by KLIA Ekspress, it took only 33 minutes to KLIA2. In case you wonder how much it cost, it's RM35 one-way, one stop.
For KLIA  Transit, its 39 mins with 4 stops (Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya, Salak Tinggi, KLIA, KLIA2).

As today is the KLIA2 Familiarisation trip, we enjoyed the KLIA Ekspres complimentary return ticket. For those of you who travels from KLIA to KLIA2, it will take about 3.5 mins to reach the terminal building. FYI, track distance from KLIA & KLIA2 is 2.14km.

Our 2 hours guided tour to KLIA today.

Once we passed the KLIA Ekspress gate in KLIA2, we were greeted by long stretch of shops! (I bet once it ready, I would end up having few stops before I actually be on board) Hopefully, no one missed their flight. If there is, I guess high chances it would be ME ;p
I spotted Pandora, Baskin Robbins, Toys R Us, Cotton On, Uniqlo, and err err (most of it is still under construction). There will be 225 retail outlets.

The departure hall. Spacious, ample seats

Check in counter for Domestic & International

We passed through the Immigration counter

The terminal

On our way to airport boarding gates. There will be around 60 gates.
Walking in the building definitely makes a big difference compared to walking at open space.
The signage-somehow reminds me of Genting Highland.

Approaching the Boarding gates, get ready to scan your luggage :)
80 aerobridges- yay, now the girl in RED wouldn't have to walk under the hot & rainy day.
If I'm not mistaken, KLIA2 will accommodate AirAsia, Malindo Air, Cebu Pacific Air & Tigerair airlines.

Almost end of the tour, heading to Arrival Hall.
Interesting to look at-sort of Sama Sama advertisement.

Approaching the Arrival Hall, baggage collection area.

So, it's the end of tour for today. KLIA2 schedule to be opened on 2nd May 2014.
Don't miss your opportunity to join the KLIA2 Open Day on 27th April and experience the journey :)

Ok, I am getting my beauty sleep after a tiring day, lots of walking.
Will share with you more photos :)
